Carnival Cruise Line executives (left to right) Jim Berra, Chief Marketing Offer; Mark Tamis, Senior Vice President, Guest Operations; Anne Bramman, Chief Financial Officer; Lynn Torrent, Executive Vice President, Sales & Guest Services; Ruben Rodriguez, Executive Vice President, Ship Operations and Gus Antorcha, Senior Vice President, Guest Commerce, were on hand to announce the details of Carnival Vista, the line’s largest and most innovative ship ever, at an event in New York on January 22, 2015. The new ship, which will debut in 2016, is designed to connect guests to the ocean with sweeping views and plenty to do both outdoors and in. The ship have will an array of groundbreaking new features including: SkyRide, a breakthrough suspended open-air cycling experience; the world’s first IMAX Theatre on a ship; an expanded water park featuring the colorful Kaleid-O-Slide, the line’s first raft-riding water tube slide; Seafood Shack, a delectable New England-inspired eatery; RedFrog Pub & Brewery, the line’s first onboard brewery, and other enhanced dining, bar and entertainment options; as well as new scenic and family-friendly accommodation types. At an event in New York City on January 22, 2015 Carnival Cruise Line Senior Vice President Mark Tamis previews SkyRide, the cruise industry’s first pedal-powered open-air aerial attraction which will debut on the line’s newest and largest ship, Carnival Vista in 2016. SkyRide will feature recumbent-like bikes for guests to cycle their way around the 800-foot suspended track with panoramic views from 150 feet above the sea, and is part of the line’s expanded outdoor sports park, SportSquare. Carnival Cruise Line Senior Vice President Mark Tamis joins IMAX Executive Vice President Larry O’Reilly in New York on January 22, 2015 to mark the announcement of the first-ever IMAX Theatre at Sea coming to the new Carnival Vista which will debut in 2016. Carnival is partnering with the entertainment innovator to bring the immersive cinematic experience to sea with a screen that is three decks high. Carnival Vista, the line’s largest and most innovative ship, also features the first-ever Multiplex on a ship, with its Thrill Theater offering a multi-dimensional special effects experience and concession stand offering popcorn and movie snacks.
