The Fourth Annual Samuel Cunard Prize for Vision, Courage and Creativity was awarded to Kenneth C. Rowe, Founder and Chairman of IMP Group International, today on board Cunard’s flagship ocean liner Queen Mary 2. The ship was docked in Halifax, NS, home of the company’s founder Sir Samuel Cunard. The inaugural Samuel Cunard Innovative Spirit Award was given to Paul Yeatman, President and Principal at GeoSpectrum Technologies Inc.

Rowe and Yeatman were joined by Captain Christopher Wells, Master of Queen Mary 2, along with local dignitaries, port officials, and key members of the community including The Honorable Scott Brison, President of the Treasury Board of the Government of Canada; the Honorable Leo Glavine, Mayor Mike Savage, and previous prize recipient John Risley.

The award for Vision, Courage and Creativity was inaugurated in 2015 to celebrate the company’s 175th Anniversary in the ancestral home of its founder Sir Samuel Cunard. Created in partnership with the Canadian Maritime Heritage Foundation, the Maritime Museum of the Atlantic and Cunard, the award acknowledges an extraordinary individual who demonstrates the qualities exemplified by Samuel Cunard throughout his life. The new Innovative Spirit Award was created to honor an individual who stands out as having a pioneering spirit similar to Sir Samuel Cunard.
